Comic Creators Alliance: Fighting Together to End Human Trafficking

Hey, everyone!  Check out Lora Innes‘ donation project to end the tyranny of human trafficking!  Here’s what the project’s about, including a lovely banner with Oxford Road‘s (upcoming character) Rachel!

The idea for this alliance is to create one image from many artists! Each comic creator who has agreed to participate has volunteered to provide a drawing of one of their female characters. We will be compiling these images into one single wallpaper image, available for download after people donate to the cause! The hope is that readers will be excited to participate in our donations drive, and that the wallpaper idea will be used to generate interest in the project! All of your favorite characters on one screen!

PLEASE donate to this cause!  You’ll get a super-sweet wallpaper and so many karma points you won’t be able to count them on your hands AND feet!  The deadline is the 24th, so get to it!

Tata Gala – Color! Please post feedback!

Hello, hello!  I bring you all a colored version of the line art for the piece I’m submitting to the Tata Gala’s breast cancer-charity juried show.  I would really like feedback on this during the week, because I plan on submitting it by Tuesday or Wednesday.  The deadline is October 1st, and I want to be in before then!

Check out my last post for more information on my rationale for the subject and color ideas.

So, without further ado, and with a disclaimer for those who wish not to have artful lady parts displayed too soon on their screens at work or school, here it is!

Tata Gala Line Art

Hello, all!  Tonight I’m posting the line art for a drawing I’m submitting to the Tata Gala juried show.  Since it’s juried, I’ll either be in the gallery shows themselves (there are two), or, if the judges don’t choose to hang it up as a physical piece, it may appear in the online gallery.  Either way, part of the entry fee goes toward their crusade for breast cancer research and I’m totally cool with that.

The drawing is a caricature of myself.  A lot of the imagery I’ve seen in the show includes thin/fitI wanted to submit an image of a curvier, more heavyset woman, who is still having fun with her body and is proud to be a woman.  The look on her face is surprised, but not afraid or self-conscious, just fun.

I want to color it, but I’m not sure how.  I think flat, pop art-like colors would be fun, to play up the positivity of the image and the show itself.

I’m posting a thumbnail instead of the entire image for the sake of you viewers who don’t want even artful lady parts gracing your computer at work or school.  Click for the full-size view at your own discretion.
